The supporters views on their temporary move to Sixfields

Coventry City 2-1 Gillingham

Coventry City's recent history has been traumatic to say the least, a club that spent a third of the last century in the top flight of English football, now find themselves in the third tier playing in front of just over 2,000 people 34 miles away in Northampton. Oh and for good measure a 10 point deduction for the second season running due to going into administration.
That's the reality.
The losers of all this of course are the supporters. A dispute between the clubs owners and the owners of the Ricoh Arena now see supporters having to make a 68 mile round trip for every home game. Most don't venture down the M45 as a matter of principle, a few do, the ones that do mostly pay their money and enter the stadium and support their team,several go, stand on the adjacent hill overlooking Sixfields (Jimmy’s Hill) as a protest against the owners, ACL (Ricoh Arena owners), the Local Council and the Football League.
The situation created is certainly a situation that should never been allowed to happen.
With the politics out of the way, what about the game!
Well it was actually very entertaining, the Sky Blues deservedly beating Gillingham 2-1.
Steven Pressley certainly has the youthful Coventry playing some good football. Defensively questionable but attacking wise very good and despite the 10 point handicap they will not be going down.
The home side (or is it the away side!) took the lead in 55 seconds through Leon Clarke, Gillingham levelled 10 minutes later through former Sky Blue loanee Cody McDonald, then Coventry wasted chance after chance before Franck Moussa got a toe to a goal bound Leon Clarke header late on to seal another win at Sixfields.
It's just a shame that there was a low turnout again to witness a bright performance from City.
They have had to bring in several academy players but these lads can play and deserve some support.
My plea to all Sky Blue fans
Get down to Sixfields and support YOUR CLUB.
I understand the protests, I understand the travel costs, I under the boycotts, I understand your dislike of the owners.
But this is your club ,the manager is doing a good job and he is bringing through a few academy boys who are worth taking a look at, Cyrus Christie, Callum Wilson, Conor Thomas, Jordan Clarke etc.
For me, it was an enjoyable afternoon down the M1.
